S S Rajamouli announces a period film with Prabhas

S S Rajamouli announced a new film with Prabhas and it’s going to be either folklore or based on mythology. The buzz about this film has been going on for quite sometime and finally it was officially announced at Cinemax, Hyderabad today morning. Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni are going to jointly produce the film under Arka Media banner. K Raghavendra Rao is going to present the film. Addressing a press conference, Rajamouli spoke about the film and said that it’s going to be visually splendid. The budget of the film is expected to exceed Magadheera’s budget by almost 1.5 to 2 times. “The film is going to boast of high end visual effects and it’s a full length period film,” says Rajamouli. This would mean that the film’s budget could be anywhere between Rs 50-70 crores, hence Rajamouli and his producers are planning to release the film in both Telugu and Tamil. When asked if he wants to break the records set by Magadheera, Rajamouli retorted saying, “I have never claimed that my films would break the records and I won’t say things like that in future too. All we can do is to try our best tomake a good film and hope that people would love it.”
M M Keeravani is going to compose the music and Ravindra is the art director. Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao is the editor and Peter Heins is going to choreograph the fights. Rama Rajamouli is the stylist and Makuta is going to handle the visual effects. The film is going to go on floors later this year in September or October after Rajamouli’s Eega release in August. Good luck Jakkana!
